WHS Ranked in Us News Top 100 High Schools In Illinois
Congratulations, Woodstock High School! WHS was once again named among the top 100 of the Best High Schools in Illinois according to U.S. News and World Report’s annual high school rankings. WHS was 72nd in this year’s rankings, released in April.
The rankings are based on a number of factors including state standardized student test scores, the number of students taking AP exams among other data including how minority and economically disadvantaged students perform academically. Both D200 high schools have graduation rates above 91 percent, which is another factor considered.
Overall, Woodstock High School scored an 89.6 out of 100 under the ranking system. Among the notable WHS rankings were ranking 36th in the state in College Readiness and 71st in the Curriculum Breadth Index. According to the data, 60 percent of students took at least one Advanced Placement exam last year.
Justin Smith, District 200 assistant superintendent for middle and high school education, said both high schools should be proud of their rankings and that high school staff members are always striving for improvement to ensure that students receive the best education and opportunities possible.
