Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing. When you volunteer with Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity, you are not just giving your time. You are helping build safe, affordable homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating moments of connection that last far beyond the day’s work.
From active construction sites to our ReStores, every volunteer experience is hands-on, meaningful, and powered by community. Woodstock Chamber of Commerce

Woodstock Opera House
Woodstock Opera House is always looking for community members to volunteer as ushers during performance as well as weekend tour guides.

Woodstock Food Pantry
The Woodstock Food Pantry provides food for the economically disadvantaged. Volunteers at the food pantry help stock and distribute goods. Students can also help organize a food drive. Visit the Woodstock Food Pantry website for more information.
Helping Paws
Helping Paws is a non-profit organization that provides shelter, and ultimately a home, for pets in need. Volunteers also may be asked to clean and organize the facility. Visit the Helping Paws website for more information.
Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA)
NISRA provides year-round recreation activities for local children and adults with disabilities. Volunteers commit to assist with one of the programs for the entire season. Program seasons run between 6-8 weeks, once a week for approximately 1-3 hours. In addition to weekly programs, one-day special event opportunities may also be available. Blood Drives
Contact a local blood donation center for volunteer opportunities. For those of you who don’t want to donate blood, you can also help organize and facilitate a blood drive.
