In addition to the information provided here, there are several closed Facebook groups (managed privately, not by D200). A link to one is provided below; others may be found by going to Facebook and searching for Woodstock HS Alumni or similar terms.
WHS has created an Alumni Room Museum. We honor our rich history and prestigious alumni by setting aside a special room where everyone may enjoy nostalgic glimpses and fond memories of The Woodstock High School's treasured history.
Many items have been collected over the years that will be displayed in the Alumni Room Museum. However, we welcome donations of all kinds: pictures, plaques, banners, scrapbooks, etc. Please deliver your WHS memorabilia for our museum to the main office.
The room is available for viewing by appointment only. Alumni groups or individuals interested in visiting should contact Assistant Principal Cara Vandermyde for more information - cvandermyde@wcusd200.org or 815.338.4370.
The Distinguished Alumni recognition program began in 2022 to coincide with the South Street building’s 100th anniversary. School officials plan to recognize new outstanding WHS alumni each year. We invite the WHS community to nominate a graduate who reflects our school’s mission and vision in his or her profession, volunteerism, community involvement, and/or civic affiliations. The Woodstock High School Distinguished Alumni Award will recognize and honor graduates who have made significant and noteworthy accomplishments in their chosen careers and/or have made positive contributions to society.
Woodstock High School is pleased to act as a clearinghouse for class reunion information. Woodstock High School does not plan reunions nor do we have official connections with activities set up by alumni. We are happy to publicize information that we have been given concerning upcoming reunions.
If you are planning a reunion for your class, or have questions, please contact Assistant Principal Cara Vandermyde at 815.338.4370 or cvandermyde@wcusd200.org.
Class of 2004
Blue Streaks Class of 2024 is holding a 20-yr reunion Friday, Oct. 4.
On October 25, 1919, voters of a 4-township area (Dorr, Seneca, Hartland, and Greenwood) voted overwhelmingly
to create a Community High School district. While the school community dates back further and was once housed in the building where Woodstock City Hall now stands, the South Street building opened in 1921. Five additions were built onto the original structure. The first, in 1939, included a swimming pool. Other additions were made in the 1950s with areas for graphic arts, an auto shop, a gymnasium, more classrooms and a music area. Another addition on the western portion of the building was constructed in the 1970s and other renovations took place over the remaining decades.
On September 25, 2022 Woodstock High School celebrated a Century of Blue! Commemorating 100 years in the South Street building, WHS welcomed the community to an open house, featuring tours, history, music and more. See below to view the day’s program and videos showcasing Blue Streaks history and the highlights of the celebration.
